My review of Emily in Paris

Carole Bethuel/Netflix

Hello everyone,

I hope you are doing well despite the ongoing corona situation. I must say this year has been a challenge for me as I’ve been thrown out of my comfort zone. As part of this, I have also resorted to many different entertainment methods to pass these sometimes incredibly boring times including Netflix binges. One of my Netflix discoveries was Emily in Paris and I wanted to share my response to this series. I hope you enjoy it 🙂

Kingsman: The Golden Circle review- a thrilling digital spy sequel

Hey all,

How is everyone? Today I thought I’d review a film that I recently saw. Cinema is a true passion for me but recently after graduating and focusing on finding a job, I have neglected this passion. This also hasn’t been helped by the fact that I’ve struggled to find films that I fancy watching at the cinema recently. When I used to live in Paris, I used to watch a film every Friday and there would be so much to choose from as films come out every Wednesday there. Anyway enough rambling, I will be reviewing Kingsman, here goes:

Boux avenue review

Hi all,
Today I will be giving you an account of my boux avenue experience. For those of you who don’t know the company, Boux Avenue Ltd. is a chain of lingerie stores based in the United Kingdom. I would say it is middle / upper market as bras start from around £30 and up.  Of course this is maybe not as expensive as agent provocateur but remember I am only a student haha !
Being the bargain hunter that I am,  I checked out their sale and found it pretty difficult to find any good sales for my size. This is partly due to their website being really bad ( sorry boux avenue but you need to make it more user friendly !)  but also because bigger sizes seem to be less discounted.
So anyway once I navigated around their site and came across some affordable bras (in the 10-12 pound region) I decided to purchase a cute red bra.  Upon purchasing,  I was able to choose the free gift wrap option that promised beautiful wrapping paper and scented rose petals.
When it arrived I was very impressed with the wrapping service but the scented rose petals were a let down as I really had to search in the packing to find them and their scent wasn’t very strong.

However,  my bra fitted amazingly and the quality was really good.

Review of Botanics All Bright Micellar 3 in 1 Cleansing Solution

Hey everybody,

Today I will be reviewing a freebie that I got thanks to my network provider. It is a make-up remover and cleanser that goes under the name of micellar water. As micellar water has been very popular at the moment I thought I would try this product (I got it for free after all).

The Body Shop Drops of Youth Review: Youth Concentrate review

Hey guys,

Hope you’re all doing well. I’ve been away in York for a week with my boyfriend so I haven’t had the time to blog a lot. However, I have just been interviewed by Abigail Rose and you can check the interview out by clicking here:Interview.

Today I would like to share my review of the product drops of youth by body shop. This product targets the first signs of ageing and delivers hydration to skin.

Yes I know this product is initially for anti-aging and I am young but the sales assistant assured me that due to the stem cell technology it had hydrating powers. Since I have dry skin I thought I’d give it a try. I’ve been trying this product for about a week now so I am ready to review.

Body shop shimmer waves bronzer review

Hey readers,

As I am sitting in the sweltering heat in Paris I have decided to do a review of a summer product that I love- the shimmer waves bronzer by Body shop. Enjoy 🙂

The look achieved with the bronzer:

shimmery
Colour & Pigmentation:

There are 5 warm and shiny shades in this palette and they’re all very wearable and neutral. I use the lightest shade of coral as I am quite pale but the product is available for darker skin tones as well. It is perfect to give you a tanned look.

Application:

The product is very easy to apply as you only need a few brushes of it to light up your face. However, do be careful as your face may get too shimmery if applied heavily

It also has multi usages. I use it as a bronzer (the intended use), eye shadow, and highlighter and sometimes even for contouring.

The packaging: This product comes in a square transparent plastic box, which box is pretty sturdy. It’s very easy to carry around.

How does it wear:

This products lights up your face making it all shiny but in a good way as it gives you colour. The shimmer is great if you are pretty pale. .The pigmentation is great and particularly useful for the summer when your winter foundation no longer suits your tanned skin tone.

Nevertheless, moderation is the key with this product and you can go wrong if you’re too heavy handed or layer it up. Also, as this product is a powder it is not great when you have dry skin so ensure to moisturise before wearing it.

Would I repurchase?

Yes I love the look it gives me; however I will be looking for something that works a bit better with, those like me, who have dry and sensitive skin.

Lots of love,

Charlotte xoxo
