Asian Beauty Blog Party Interview with Eva

Hey lovelies,

Today I will be interviewing my very good friend called Eva. I met her in Paris during my year abroad and she lives in Taiwan. I wanted to ask her a few questions about her beauty habits in order to see what the differences between Western and Asian beauty are.

I hope you enjoy the interview!

What are the beauty trends in Taiwan?

For most of Taiwanese girls, being beautiful means having white skin and big eyes. We do everything we can to prevent ourselves from the sunlight whenever we go outside. In Taiwan, sunscreen is indispensable for every girl and it’s very normal to see women walking around with umbrellas on a big sunny day. Also, Taiwanese girls like to have big eyes. We use circle lenses, double-eyelid tape and some pairs of false lashes to make our eyes look bigger.

On an average day, what would be your daytime & night-time routine?

I put on white up lotion twice a day, in the morning and before bedtime. Sometimes I apply a facial mask before going to bed.

What are some of the countries you buy products from?

In Taiwan, we like beauty products from Japan or Korea. French brands like L’Occitane, Garnier and L’Oréal are also popular in Taiwan. Personally, I prefer products from Japan, they have good quality and work well with my skin.

What are some of your favourite brands?

Here are some of my favourite brands: Shiseido, Hada-Labo, Bioré and L’Occitane. I like lotion and skincare products from Shiseido and Hada-Labo, sunscreen and makeup remover from Bioré. As for hand cream, I like products from L’Occitane, it works the best with my skin.

Do you have a favourite Taiwanese beauty product/ brand?

I like face sheet masks from My Beauty Diary(我的美麗日記) because of their good quality and their good scents.

What type of skin do you have? Or what are your skincare goals?

I have dry skin. In summer, I don’t have any big problems with my skin because of the humid weather in Taiwan. However, in winter, lotion and scream will become indispensable for me.

What are your favourite scents?

Cherry blossoms and roses are my favourite.

Any favourite skincare ingredients?

I don’t have any preferences. Normally, I just do some research on the internet, and try the products highly recommended by the others.

Thank you Eva, that was very interesting.
