1st year anniversary.

Hi readers,

So today marks the first year anniversary with me and my boyfriend. I honestly cannot believe that one year has gone by! Today I would like to share with you our celebrations that happened over the weekend.

So we took the tube to Euston station and dropped off our suitcases at the Hilton hotel so that we could make our way to the lyceum theatre to watch the lion king theatre. We had really good seats and as we went for the matinee performance there were loads of kids. This was super convenient as they are small thus we had no worries of their heads blocking our view haha.

The musical itself was impressive. Visually it is amazing with beautiful costumes for the performers and the way that the performers used their bodies to control the animal creations was amazing. There was even a reference to frozen, which made it quite funny.

After the musical we went back to the hotel to relax before dinner and exchange gifts. I had made my boyfriend a personalised card on moon pig and I was so glad with the result!

I also got us personalised key rings with the date of our anniversary.

My boyfriend got me this Swarovski necklace that is absolutely beautiful.

We then walked a mile to the restaurant called pizza union. This walk was extremely necessary since once we arrived we ordered 4 pizzas to share between us. It was indeed a heavy meal and I felt so full hahah. We then walked another mile to a gelato place called ‘scoop’ and we had some delicious ice cream.

I had a fantastic time and cannot wait for the future years ahead of me.

Until next time….

Lots of love,

Charlotte xoxo

May favourites

Hello everyone, welcome back to my blog!

I can’t believe it’s already June when it’s pouring down with rain in the UK and France! As this is the first day of the month, I have decided to do my May Favourites post. Enjoy!

I’ll start off with cinema!

Me before you

This film was an absolute tear jerker and I do not think I have ever cried so much in my entire life. Definitely recommend this film for those who like romantic films 🙂 I won’t spoil the rest yet as I will be posting a review of this film shortly.

Books:

Adorkable

I took out a few books this month as I had a trip to the French countryside where I would have no internet or TV so reading would be my entertainment. This book took me by surprise because from the cover it looks rather superficial without any important messages; however the truth is very different.

This story is about a boy and a girl who couldn’t be more different (the girl is an outsider and the boy is super popular) yet they fall in love. I think that the message of this book is that you should not judge people by appearances as you may not get to know someone properly if you are so superficial. Also it emphasises the fact that it’s ok to be different as the main protagonist, Jeane, is able to create a community called ‘adorkable’ to help people who feel like outsiders to feel ok with them. I loved this book!

Music:

Zara Larsson

I discovered this artist on the radio in London and I keep hearing her all the time. She has an absolutely fantastic voice and her lyrics are truly heart felt. Fun fact about her: she is Swedish and only 18!

That’s all for now.  Hope to hear from you soon.

Caviar Nails Review

One of the hottest new nail art trends is the caviar manicure, a three-dimensional look created when tiny beads, called “caviar pearls,” are pressed into regular polish. I truly got hyped up about this trend of nail ‘caviar’ thinking that it would be super ultra.  However, I was really let down. In this article, I’ll give you a quick overview of my experience with the caviar nail polish.

Pictures speak louder than words so I will post a picture to show what I mean:

Apart from my wonky fingers, it is clear that this nail caviar does not provide the luxury implied in its title. It has been described as a ‘carpet’ texture by one of my friends and I just thought it looked fuzzy.

Also, the caviar pearls won’t last long on your nails as I had a few pearls pop off within two hours of application. I applied a top coat to make them last but actually all that happened was that the colour of the pearls came off and my nails looked awful

In summation, caviar nails are not my thing at all. By all means try it out and make your own opinion about it- you can’t go wrong when you can get about half a dozen different coloured nailed caviars for a quid in the pound shop.

Let me know if your experiences with nail caviar have been better than mine xoxo

Tangle Angel Detangling Hair Brush review

Hi all,

I hope you are having a wonderful day. Today I will be talking about a life saver product: the Tangle Angel Detangling Hair Brush.

I have super knotty hair and de-tangling brushes have honestly revolutionised my life as it has made brushing my hair pleasurable rather than painful. So the other day when I was in TK maxx I bought the Tangle Angel Detangling Hair Brush and I thought I would do a review of it. Enjoy!

Overall Rating: 4/5

Tangle Angel Classic Black Hair Brush

I’ve only had it for a few days but I have been loving using it as it is very easy  to hold with a grippable head and  I can even use it with wet hair and when blow-drying my hair. But the good things don’t stop there as it is easy to get hair out of the brush, which I have found to be a struggle with other brushes in general.

Also, the design is aesthetically pleasing so I love using it. Furthermore, the small size means that I can pop it easily into any handbag, which is great for when I’m late for a party or rushing to the gym.

My only gripe is that brush bristles are slightly weak so I don’t know how long this brush will last but apart from that I love this product.
